Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Cellular Microbiology

This appointment is full-time, fixed-term for 3 years and starts 1 November 2011 Grade 6 – £27,428 to £29,972 per annum
We seek to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join an inter-disciplinary research team working on the interaction between pathogenic bacteria and human platelets.
The successful candidate will be a Microbiologist or Cell Biologist with an interest in host-pathogen interactions. You will need to be able to produce data worthy of publication in high-impact research journals. Strong communication and inter-personal skills are essential.
You will have:
• a PhD in Microbiology or Cell Biology
• experience of handling Gram positive pathogenic bacteria
• knowledge of platelet signalling
• experience of Staphylococcus Aureus would be an advantage
