A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Protein Engineering to investigate biochemical aspects of protein/protein and protein/ligand structure function relationships. Areas of general interest include enzymology of proteases, molecular basis of protein/protein interactions, high affinity ligand selection by phage display and will involve collaborative interactions in a multidisciplinary group. Specific projects include ongoing aspects of HGF/Met signaling, Sonic hedgehog signaling as well as new targets in pathways of cancer, neurobiology and infectious disease.
Requirements:
Ph.D. in biochemistry, chemistry, or related discipline. Successful candidates will be highly motivated to work independently on protein engineering projects with significant biological relevance. Experience in protein chemistry, structural biology, enzymology, molecular biology, phage diversity methods is highly preferred. Qualified candidates must also have advanced at least one research project as evidenced by a first author paper published or accepted in a well recognized peer-reviewed journal. Strong skills in analytical and quantitative methods, communication and organization are desirable.
